در تئوری و به فرض نبودن هیچ محدودیتی، خیلی زود رقم تلفات دهها برابر قبلی، سپس صدها برابر قبلی می‌شود و به همین ترتیب.
در تصویر مثالی را می‌بینیم که سرایت‌پذیری واریانت تنها ٪۵۰ بیشتر است، با همان نرخ کشندگی؛ به فرض اینکه محدودیتی وجود نداشته باشد تعداد مبتلایان یک هفتۀ آخر چهارمین ماه 🚨۹۸۵ برابر، در نتیجه تعداد تلفات آن هفته هم ۹۸۵ برابر می‌شود.
⚠️یعنی اگر جهش سبب افزایش نرخ کشندگی شده بود اما سبب افزایش ضریب تکثیر نشده بود تلفات کمتری را سبب می‌شد!
