На дне Байкала уже установлены 13 кластеров и более 4 тысяч оптических модулей. Сейчас специалисты строят 14-й кластер, модернизируют и ремонтируют 1-й и 13-й.
В 2024 году Байкальский телескоп обнаружил астрофизические нейтрино с энергией, превышающей 200 ТэВ. На основании открытия ученые предположили, что диск галактики Млечный Путь вырабатывает намного большее количество высокоэнергетических нейтрино, чем считалось до сих пор.
