По информации агентства Bloomberg авиакомпания Qatar Airways планирует отказаться от заказанных самолётов модели 737-10 (737 MAX 10), производимых Boeing, так как самолёт больше не соответствует требованиям авиакомпании к флоту.
Твёрдый контракт с Boeing на 25 самолётов 737 MAX 10 с опционами ещё на 25 лайнеров был подписан на авиасалоне Фарнборо в 2022 году. В то время перевозчик был втянут в серьезный спор с европейским концерном Airbus из-за проблем с A350, в разгар которого Airbus расторг сделку на 50 лайнеров модели A321neo. Позже стороны помирились и Airbus восстановил контракт.
Qatar Airways рассматривает возможность конвертации заказанных 737-10, самой большей модели в семействе 737 MAX, в меньшую модель 737-8. Более того, сообщается, что Qatar Airways, скорее всего, и эти самолёты передаст своим авиакомпаниям-партнерам: Rwanda Air и Virgin Australia.
