🎖 As part of the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, diplomats from the Embassy of Russia in the United States and officers from the Military Attaché Office together with pupils from the Embassy's school visited veterans living in Washington and its suburbs. They congratulated them on the upcoming anniversary date. On behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin they presented medals “80 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”.

They emphasized that during the hardest war years the Soviet people not only defended their homeland, but also liberated Europe from Hitler's invaders. The unbroken spirit of the defenders of the Fatherland is a moral and ethical guideline for all generations of people in Russia.
