When you make do, that means you get something going with some simple things!
For example you're hungry, and there is only potatos and onions. So you make do out of those potatos and onions and make it a yummy thing to eat

More examples:
1. you have got to make do with what you god!
2. I made do with the little knife and cut his head off
3. I'm trying to make do! But there is nothing i can do with these!
