English: the district of Jericho, which has numerous palm-groves and springs of water..."
(Natural History 5.15)

This confirms Deuteronomy 34:3 & 2 Chronicles 28:15's words of Jericho being the city of palm trees:
Deuteronomy 34:3 KJB
And the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, unto Zoar.
2 Chronicles 28:15 KJB
And the men which were expressed by name rose up, and took the captives,...and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brethren: then they returned to Samaria.
