Сообщается, что, согласно статистическим данным, с 1997 года в общей сложности в Германии 412 230 детей родились благодаря экстракорпоральному оплодотворению — методу лечения, при котором в матку переносится яйцеклетка, оплодотворенная вне организма.
Отмечается, что не все переносы эмбрионов приводят к рождению ребенка, так, например, в 2022 году 22 295 детей родились после 127 292 лечебных циклов, а в прошлом году количество лечебных циклов выросло чуть менее чем на 3% и составило 131 000.
