وكان من جملة الأسباب التي قدرها الله لوقوع مراده: قائدٌ مغرور، كان بيده الرجوع إلى مكة بعد إذ نجت القافلة، لكنه أصر واستكبر، وقال: «والله لا نرجع حتى نرد بدرًا، فنقيم بها ثلاثًا، فننحر الجزور، ونطعم الطعام، ونسقي الخمر، وتعزف لنا القيان، وتسمع بنا العرب وبمسيرنا وجمعنا، فلا يزالون يهابوننا أبداً» فقاد بغروره معسكر الشرك إلى حتفه، وأحق الله -بذلك القدر- الحق، وأبطل الباطل، وقطع دابر المجرمين، وأعز الله المؤمنين من حيث لا يحتسبون..
وهنا تكمن قوة المؤمن، أنه يتوكل ويحتمي بالذي له الغيب، وإليه يُرجع الأمر كله!
