В мае 1970 года в ТАСС была пресечена попытка диверсии в виде введения в телетайп для республик Средней Азии крамольной по тем временам фразы "Да здравствует Мао Цзэдун". Отношения СССР с Китаем в те годы оставляли желать лучшего (особенно после конфликта у о. Даманский), поэтому об этом было срочно доложено в Москву. К каким результатам привело расследование - неизвестно. Должно быть, это была шутка какого-либо из практикантов, тем более, что юных поклонников "великого Кормчего" в СССР хватало.

Telegram was co-founded by Pavel and Nikolai Durov, the brothers who had previously created VKontakte. In 2016, Forbes’ Michael Solomon described Pavel Durov (pictured, below) as the “Mark Zuckerberg of Russia.” In 2018, Russia banned Telegram although it reversed the prohibition two years later. Perpetrators of these scams will create a public group on Telegram to promote these investment packages that are usually accompanied by fake testimonies and sometimes advertised as being Shariah-compliant. Interested investors will be asked to directly message the representatives to begin investing in the various investment packages offered. In a message on his Telegram channel recently recounting the episode, Durov wrote: "I lost my company and my home, but would do it again – without hesitation." The account, "War on Fakes," was created on February 24, the same day Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a "special military operation" and troops began invading Ukraine. The page is rife with disinformation, according to The Atlantic Council's Digital Forensic Research Lab, which studies digital extremism and published a report examining the channel.
