В преддверии нового года коллективный Запад явно возбудился относительно того, что наконец-то удалось, как ему показалось, стравить Москву с Астаной, поскольку российская сторона выходит из некоторых урановых проектов в Казахстане. Мол, всё-таки удалось дожать казахстанское руководство, которое, опасаясь вторичных санкций, якобы настояло на том, чтобы 17 декабря AO Uranium One, входящее в группу компаний госкорпорации «Росатом», вышло из совместного с НАК «Казатомпром» предприятия на территории РК.
Согласно радужным данным Forbes.kz, AO Uranium One продал свою долю в 49,979% в СП «Заречное». Покупателем стала компания SNURDC Astana Mining Company Limited, конечным бенефициаром которой является китайская компания Slate Nuclear Uranium Resources Development Co., Ltd. Apparently upbeat developments in Russia's discussions with Ukraine helped at least temporarily send investors back into risk assets. Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko that there were "certain positive developments" occurring in the talks with Ukraine, according to a transcript of their meeting. Putin added that discussions were happening "almost on a daily basis."
