Russian Embassy in Iraq

Over 80 years of diplomatic relations with Iraq, numerous diplomats have worked in the Russian Embassy in Baghdad and the Consulates in Erbil and Basra. Many of them have etched their names in gold in the history of Russian diplomacy, later heading our diplomatic missions in other Arab countries.
The position of Russian Ambassador to Iraq, in particular, was held by Victor Posuvalyuk in 1990-1992, Director of the Department for the Middle East and North Africa of the Russian Foreign Ministry and later Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as Alexander Kinshchak (formally Acting Chargé d'Affaires in 2003-2004), who currently serves as Director of the Department for the Middle East and North Africa of the Russian Foreign Ministry. It’s worth mentioning that both of them managed to show their diplomatic professional skills serving in the country that was enduring another hard period of its history.

‎على مدى 80 عاما من العلاقات الدبلوماسية مع العراق عمل في السفارة الروسية في بغداد والقنصليتين العامتين في أربيل والبصرة عدد كبير من الدبلوماسيين. وقد نقشت أسماء العديد منهم بحروف من الذهب في تاريخ الدبلوماسية الروسية. وتولوا قيادة بعثاتنا الدبلوماسية في دول أخرى من العالم العربي.
‎شغل منصب سفير روسيا في العراق، على وجه الخصوص، كل من فيكتور بوسوفاليوك في 1990-1992 الذي أصبح لاحقًا رئيس إدارة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا في وزارة الخارجية الروسية وبعد ذلك تولى منصب نائب وزير الخارجية، والكسندر كينشاك (شكليا القائم بالأعمال المؤقت في 2003-2004) الذي يشغل حاليا منصب رئيس إدارة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا في وزارة الخارجية الروسية.
وجدير بالذكر أن كليهما تمكنا من اظهار كفاءتهما الدبلوماسية المهنية في البلد الذي كان يعيش مرحلة صعبة أخرى من تاريخه.
