Horizon Forbidden West on max difficulty delivers some epic boss fights. One attempt is 15-20 min long. Boss have a lot of HP, you have a lot of healing. I literally ended up with 1 XP before hitting the final arrow and getting some healing from the kill. And the landmass we we're fighting in is full of giant icicles, torn machine parts and unlucky small machines that managed to step on our way during battle.
I genially enjoy spending 20+ attempts on the boss to defeat it and then doing a rematch for some additional spare parts.
I have to admit that in Horizon Zero Dawn max difficulty was just boring - you'd stand and spam arrows because enemies have a lot of HP. In Forbidden West I find myself strategizing a lot based on what parts a machine has instead of bruteforcing it on max difficulty.
