Картографический сервис Google Maps ввёл новое обозначение для Мексиканского залива – Американский залив (Gulf of America). На территории США этот сервис выдаёт одно название – трамповское, а в остальных странах – двойное название.

Некоторые думают, что это уникальное явление. На самом деле нет. Точно также с двойным названием Google Maps указывает Персидский залив, который арабы называют Арабским. Здесь топонимическая война имеет более давние корни. На всех картах, изданных в арабских странах, Персидский залив именуется только Арабским. В остальном мире принято называть его Персидским.

Right now, as Wired reports, the app is a key way for Ukrainians to receive updates from the government during the invasion.
