ذكر أحد المستخدمين عودة ظهور صور شخصية حساسة كان قد حذفها قبل سنوات، في حين أفاد مستخدم آخر بظهور صور من عام 2021 كان قد حذفها، وأشار مستخدم ثالث إلى أن حوالي 300 صورة قديمة - بعضها كان يتضمن محتوى كاشف - ظهرت مجدداً على جهاز iPad كان قد قام بمسح كل البيانات المحتواة عليه وبيعه لصديق.
قد يمتد هذا الخلل ليشمل ملفات أخرى غير الصور، حيث أفاد بعض المستخدمين بعودة ظهور رسائل صوتية قديمة بعد التحديث، هذا يشير إلى أن المشكلة قد تكون مرتبطة بطريقة التعامل مع بيانات التخزين في iOS 17.5، وليس بكون آبل تحتفظ بالبيانات المحذوفة.

On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. The fact-checker Logically AI also found the claim to be false. The woman, Olena Kurilo, was also captured in a video after the airstrike and shown to have the injuries. The fake Zelenskiy account reached 20,000 followers on Telegram before it was shut down, a remedial action that experts say is all too rare. Given the pro-privacy stance of the platform, it’s taken as a given that it’ll be used for a number of reasons, not all of them good. And Telegram has been attached to a fair few scandals related to terrorism, sexual exploitation and crime. Back in 2015, Vox described Telegram as “ISIS’ app of choice,” saying that the platform’s real use is the ability to use channels to distribute material to large groups at once. Telegram has acted to remove public channels affiliated with terrorism, but Pavel Durov reiterated that he had no business snooping on private conversations. In a message on his Telegram channel recently recounting the episode, Durov wrote: "I lost my company and my home, but would do it again – without hesitation."
