Our 9yr old harvested another one of his watermelons today!
Harvested our first loofahs!
Temps are climbing here and our garden productivity and focus is changing. Cucumbers and tomatoes are nearly done for the season and now okra, peppers, and eggplants are producing like crazy.

A good bit of damage to our garden and property but our family, our animals, and our house are all safe. 🙏
"Where flowers bloom so does hope."
We are nowhere near done with cleanup from the storm but yesterday we spent the day assessing damage and cleaning up our garden. Lots of loss but also a lot more was salvageable than we originally thought. We even found some new blossoms on our peppers today. ❤️
From this to that!

A big part of becoming self sufficient is to reuse, repurpose, and of course to get a little creative. We tore down the old pen that got knocked down in the storm and started repurposing the materials into a new grow out pen. Chicks will spend a few more weeks in it before they are big enough to join the rest of our flock then it will be used as a rabbit grow out pen.
"Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience."
We are still here! Trying to be patient while our property dries up from even more rain so we can continue cleanup and start working on our fall garden. Hopefully I'll be posting regularly again soon. Thanks for hanging in there with us. ❤️

"Just like a spider weaves its web, our thoughts, beliefs, feelings, attitude, and actions weave the fabric of our life. So make sure you only weave what you truly want, not what you fear."
