Улан-Удэнский гарнизонный военный суд огласил обвинительный приговор Онетову. Военнослужащий с целью временно уклониться от прохождения военной службы, желая отдохнуть от обязанностей по ее несению, 1 июля 2023 года без уважительных причин не явился на службу в воинскую часть. 30 января 2024 года Онетов добровольно прибыл в военную комендатуру.
Суд назначил Онетову наказание в виде лишения свободы в колонии общего режима на срок 5 лет.
