If Britain and her beautiful pubs do, in fact, have an equal, then I am yet to come across it.

One of the main reasons that so many men unnecessarily end their lives is because people tend to think that "they'll be alright".

Something that's been troubling me over the last few days is the publics lack of empathy for living beings. A few days ago, I was cycling when a woman stopped me to inform me her sick grandmothers dog had escaped. So, I spend a great deal of time cycling for miles to look for it. What really got me is of all the people I stopped to ask. Not one of them joined in the search. They simply wished me good luck or showed no interest. Eventually, I find people who'd seen the dog (injured), and I catch up with the owner in the vets as the poor dog had been hit by a van. I have done this many times and DO NOT consider myself special for it. The point I'm making is that society seems to have completely lost its sentimentality and the willingness to go out of its way to maintain the decency that formed the Western world. The dogs life, what it means to its owners, and its overall lack of importance to others seemed very symbolic to me at the time.

Though many people from all over the world may see them as sombre, I absolutely love the dark, moody magnificence of England's grand and awe-inspiring homes.
