В день рождения великого русского и ленинградского учёного, дешифровщика письменности майя Юрия Кнорозова открыли в Красногвардейском районе сквер его памяти. Благоустроили зелёную зону, сделали пешеходные дорожки, установили скамейки и арт-объекты.

Новый сквер находится рядом с домом на Гранитной, в котором Юрий Кнорозов прожил 33 года – с 1959 по 1992 год. Сегодня там живёт внучка учёного – Анна Маслова. Она также приняла участие в церемонии открытия.
