Airbus Helicopters приостановит работы над электрическим аэротакси CityAirbus NextGen после завершения лётных испытаний. По результатам стратегического анализа, проведённого в конце 2024 года, компания пришла к выводу о неготовности ключевых технологий для запуска серийного производства.
Главная проблема — недостаточная ёмкость аккумуляторов для выполнения целевой задачи: перевозки четырёх пассажиров на расстояние 80-100 километров. Ожидаемого прогресса в развитии батарей в ближайшем будущем не предвидится.
Демонстратор, совершивший первый полёт в ноябре на предприятии в Донауворте, продолжит испытания в течение 2025 года. Полученные технологии найдут применение в других проектах Airbus, как в самолётостроении, так и в вертолётной технике.
