Русский ботаник и палеоботаник, исследователь и знаток флоры Абхазии Альфред Колаковский родился 24 февраля 1906 года.

С 1933 года он работал в Абхазии, изучая растительность высокогорных пастбищ. В 1938—1939 годах опубликовал первые два тома "Флоры Абхазии".

С 1945 года был заведующий отделом ботаники Сухумского ботанического сада. В 1947 году защитил докторскую диссертацию по фитоландшафтам Абхазии и их истории, разработав методику сохранения Пицундской сосновой рощи.

В честь него названы: колокольчик Колаковского, василек Колаковского, горечавка Колаковского.

Альфред Колаковский умер в Сухуме в 1997 году.

After fleeing Russia, the brothers founded Telegram as a way to communicate outside the Kremlin's orbit. They now run it from Dubai, and Pavel Durov says it has more than 500 million monthly active users.
