THE NINE HOMES OF NORSE MYTHOLOGY

Based on a thorough investigation of the source material, placing greater weight on the heathen poems of the Poetic Edda than on the later prose retellings of Snorri Sturluson, a list of the nine homes consists of the following realms:
1. Asgard or Godheim (Home of the Gods)
2. Midgard or Mannheim (Home of Men)
3. Alfheim (Home of the Elves)
4. Jötunheim (Home of the Giants)
5. Vanaheim (Home of the Vanir)
6. Hel (Home of Urd and the Blessed Dead)
7. Surts Sökkdalir or Utgard (Southern World of Fire)
8. Hoddmimis Holt (Home of Mimir and the Dwarves)
9. Niflhel or Niflheim (Northern World of Ice, Realm of the Damned)

Like Achilles inspired Alexander to greatness and glory, so too did Alexander inspire Julius Caesar, and Julius did Octavian Augustus, and on and on.

Our name is a word play of the famous Wandervogel, as we wanted to honor that generation of forest pilgrims.
Wudufugol is old English for “forest bird” particularly a bird of prey.

This channel will both document our pilgrimages into nature, our heathen siðr, as well as being a medium to network with like minded Heathens as we see fit.
