Неделю назад у меня вышла обзорная статья* на @kommersantuk про постсоветский общепит (кафе, рестораны, супермаркеты Лондона), и вот на этой неделе совершенно случайно я натыкаюсь на статью в The Times про один из 3 русских🇷🇺 ресторанов Лондона🇬🇧— самый старший из них, который кажется управляется потомками белоэмигрантов** — Borscht N Tears (Борщ и Слёзы) в Knightsbridge, недалеко от универмага Harrods.
Удивило две вещи — похвала ресторану (обычно все его хают за слишком высокие цены), и вообще какое-либо отсутствие политики в описании, хотя обычно мейнстрим СМИ куда угодно воткнут политический лозунг, если речь идет про Россию. В такие моменты я начинаю чесать репу, и гадать — так может не все потеряно с объективностью в западной журналистике и может все таки мы обойдемся без Третьей Мировой между Россией и Британией? Извините, это я о своем наболевшем 🙂

Apparently upbeat developments in Russia's discussions with Ukraine helped at least temporarily send investors back into risk assets. Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko that there were "certain positive developments" occurring in the talks with Ukraine, according to a transcript of their meeting. Putin added that discussions were happening "almost on a daily basis." At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised. As the war in Ukraine rages, the messaging app Telegram has emerged as the go-to place for unfiltered live war updates for both Ukrainian refugees and increasingly isolated Russians alike. Perpetrators of these scams will create a public group on Telegram to promote these investment packages that are usually accompanied by fake testimonies and sometimes advertised as being Shariah-compliant. Interested investors will be asked to directly message the representatives to begin investing in the various investment packages offered. Also in the latest update is the ability for users to create a unique @username from the Settings page, providing others with an easy way to contact them via Search or their t.me/username link without sharing their phone number.
