Together with Pradnya Bivalkar, we dissect the potential fallout from the ongoing escalation in the war and the sharp rhetoric increasingly emerging from Moscow. What might Russia’s hopes for Mr. Trump’s potential involvement actually look like? And what on earth does the newest Hazel Bush have to do with it all?
We also explore how the rhetoric of threat is weaponized - not just by Russia - to target specific communities and leverage conflict for political gain. From Russia to India, we dive into "vote jihad" and how it was deployed to mobilize votes in India’s recent regional elections.
The episode wraps up with a provocative question: What’s the most brilliant yet shocking political maneuver you’ve ever witnessed?

The original Telegram channel has expanded into a web of accounts for different locations, including specific pages made for individual Russian cities. There's also an English-language website, which states it is owned by the people who run the Telegram channels. In February 2014, the Ukrainian people ousted pro-Russian president Viktor Yanukovych, prompting Russia to invade and annex the Crimean peninsula. By the start of April, Pavel Durov had given his notice, with TechCrunch saying at the time that the CEO had resisted pressure to suppress pages criticizing the Russian government. Telegram was founded in 2013 by two Russian brothers, Nikolai and Pavel Durov. "For Telegram, accountability has always been a problem, which is why it was so popular even before the full-scale war with far-right extremists and terrorists from all over the world," she told AFP from her safe house outside the Ukrainian capital. Ukrainian forces have since put up a strong resistance to the Russian troops amid the war that has left hundreds of Ukrainian civilians, including children, dead, according to the United Nations. Ukrainian and international officials have accused Russia of targeting civilian populations with shelling and bombardments.
