Russian President Vladimir Putin launched Russia's invasion of Ukraine in the early-morning hours of February 24, targeting several key cities with military strikes. Right now, as Wired reports, the app is a key way for Ukrainians to receive updates from the government during the invasion. As the war in Ukraine rages, the messaging app Telegram has emerged as the go-to place for unfiltered live war updates for both Ukrainian refugees and increasingly isolated Russians alike. "Your messages about the movement of the enemy through the official chatbot … bring new trophies every day," the government agency tweeted.
