Запуск наземного метро в Петрозаводске планируется на май-июнь 2025 года, сообщил губернатор Карелии Артур Парфенчиков.
Маршрут электрички был расширен, и конечной остановкой станет станция Деревянка. На первом этапе будет функционировать 16 станций, из которых 4 расположены в Петрозаводске: вокзал, Онежский разъезд, Голиковка и Томицы. В дальнейшем количество станций увеличится.
