Буквально неделю назад, сидя в тёплой дружеской карело-русской компании в городе Петрозаводске, я решил произнести фразу «душа болит» по-карельски, да и ляпнул дословную кальку с русского: ”hengi kivistäy”.
На что присутствующие карелы меня тактично поправили: «Карелы так не говорят. ”Kivistiä” [«болеть»] может нога, например. А если «душа болит», то ”vaččua tuškuau” [«живот изводит»]. У карел, Саша, душа в животе располагается».
Вот хороший пример, как дословно переводя с русского языка на карельский можно попасть впросак. Смысл сказанного, конечно, поймут, но ты выдашь себя с потрохами как иноязычного агента.

This ability to mix the public and the private, as well as the ability to use bots to engage with users has proved to be problematic.
