В феврале ему удалось выжить во время атаки беспилотника в районе Набатии. Тогда ранения получили два боевика "Хизбаллы", но Карки не было в машине, по которой был нанесен удар, хотя считается, что охотились именно за ним. До этого была еще одна попытка ликвидации Карки.
