В связи с проведением референдумов в ДНР и ЛНР по России прошла череда митингов поддержки. Один из таких состоялся в Южно-Сахалинске 23 сентября на площадке музеем "Россия — Моя история".
Мероприятие собралось более 100 неравнодушных жителей области. Выразить свою поддержку жителям Донбасса пришли и депутаты Городской Думы Южно-Сахалинска.
Для собравшихся на митинге были организованны полевые кухни и выступления народных коллективов.
«Сегодня мы собрались здесь, чтобы сказать «Добро пожаловать домой, Донбасс!». Они со страхом в сердце, но с мужеством принимают судьбоносное решение. И мы говорим, что мы с вами. Мы поддерживаем вас. И чтобы не было — Россия должна быть единой!»
