Голос Осязания. Шевельнулись руки, и пальцы встречают холодный узел рубашки. Руки мои в плену, а ноги босы и чувствуют холод на каменном полу.
Голос Слуха. Тишина. Я здесь.
Голос Зрения. Синие и красные круги. Кружатся, переходят с места на место. Темно. Светильник.
Голос Слуха. Опять шаги. Один, другой. Они громки, потому что кругом тишина.
Голос Страха. Кто?
Голос Внимания. Шли туда. Изменили направление. Идут сюда.
Голос Рассудка. Сюда — только ко мне. Они ко мне.
Голос Слуха. Стоят. Все тихо.
Голос Ужаса. Двери скоро отворятся.
Голос Слуха. Щелкает ключ.
Голос Страха. Ключ повертывается.
Голос Рассудка. Это они.
Голос Сознания. Мне страшно.
Голос Воли. Но все же слово не будет произнесено. Нет.
Голос Зрения. Дверь раскрылась.
Голос Слуха. Вот их слова: «Госпожа больная, будьте добры перейти. Господин врач приказал».
Голос Воли. Нет.
Голос Сознания. Буду молчать.
Голос Зрения. Они обступили.
Голос Осязания. К плечу прикоснулась рука.
Голос Воспоминания....белому, когда-то.
Голос Осязания. Пола коснулись волосы.
Голос Воспоминания.... черные и длинные.
Голос Слуха. Они говорят: «Держи за голову, возьми за плечи! Неси! Идем!»
Голос Сознания. Они несут. Все погибло. Мировое зло.
Голос Слуха. Доносится голос: «Больная все еще не переведена?» — «Никак нет».
Голос Сознания. Все умерло. Все умирает.

Telegram has gained a reputation as the “secure” communications app in the post-Soviet states, but whenever you make choices about your digital security, it’s important to start by asking yourself, “What exactly am I securing? And who am I securing it from?” These questions should inform your decisions about whether you are using the right tool or platform for your digital security needs. Telegram is certainly not the most secure messaging app on the market right now. Its security model requires users to place a great deal of trust in Telegram’s ability to protect user data. For some users, this may be good enough for now. For others, it may be wiser to move to a different platform for certain kinds of high-risk communications. In addition, Telegram now supports the use of third-party streaming tools like OBS Studio and XSplit to broadcast live video, allowing users to add overlays and multi-screen layouts for a more professional look. On December 23rd, 2020, Pavel Durov posted to his channel that the company would need to start generating revenue. In early 2021, he added that any advertising on the platform would not use user data for targeting, and that it would be focused on “large one-to-many channels.” He pledged that ads would be “non-intrusive” and that most users would simply not notice any change. Right now the digital security needs of Russians and Ukrainians are very different, and they lead to very different caveats about how to mitigate the risks associated with using Telegram. For Ukrainians in Ukraine, whose physical safety is at risk because they are in a war zone, digital security is probably not their highest priority. They may value access to news and communication with their loved ones over making sure that all of their communications are encrypted in such a manner that they are indecipherable to Telegram, its employees, or governments with court orders. On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. He urged users to be mistrustful of the things shared on Channels, and initially threatened to block the feature in the countries involved for the length of the war, saying that he didn’t want Telegram to be used to aggravate conflict or incite ethnic hatred. He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations.
