Елецкий корреспондент «Орловск. Вестника» сообщает, что 16-го декабря скоропостижно скончался елецкий мещанин С.К. Деев, 60 лет. Шел он по Успенской улице, присел возле дома Володина и умер.
Покойный был большой оригинал. При жизни он играл роль нищего. Одевался в лохмотья, голодал днями, жил в невозможной закуте. По смерти же оказался богачом и довольно солидным. Капитал его, ни много, ни мало, равняется 40.000. То-то племянничкам радость! «Биржевые ведомости», Декабрь. 1902 год

Continuing its crackdown against entities allegedly involved in a front-running scam using messaging app Telegram, Sebi on Thursday carried out search and seizure operations at the premises of eight entities in multiple locations across the country. A Russian Telegram channel with over 700,000 followers is spreading disinformation about Russia's invasion of Ukraine under the guise of providing "objective information" and fact-checking fake news. Its influence extends beyond the platform, with major Russian publications, government officials, and journalists citing the page's posts. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) had carried out a similar exercise in 2017 in a matter related to circulation of messages through WhatsApp. Again, in contrast to Facebook, Google and Twitter, Telegram's founder Pavel Durov runs his company in relative secrecy from Dubai. On Telegram’s website, it says that Pavel Durov “supports Telegram financially and ideologically while Nikolai (Duvov)’s input is technological.” Currently, the Telegram team is based in Dubai, having moved around from Berlin, London and Singapore after departing Russia. Meanwhile, the company which owns Telegram is registered in the British Virgin Islands.
