لم أر في حياتي أتعس عيشًا وأضيق نفسًا ممّن كانت حياتهم خلوًا من المساحات التراحمية والعطاء غير المشروط. يشقى الإنسان حقا ويثلم إنسانيته إذا كانت المعاوضة قوامَ تعامله مع الخلق، فلا يفقه سوى لغة الواجبات والحقوق بعيدًا عن دائرة التراحم ومعانيه السامية. وما أبعد هذه الرؤية النفعية المحضة عن جوهر الشريعة ولبّها، وما أقصاها عن هدايات الوحي وسير الأنبياء والصالحين، فالسماحة والرحمة أظهر سمات الشريعة وأخصّها، جاء في كتاب الأدب للبخاريّ: «سُئل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الإيمانِ فقال: الصبرُ والسماحة». وتأسرني المروءة والنبل فيما صحَّ وثبت عن سيدنا عبد الله بن عباس -رضي الله عنهما- وهو قوله: «ما أحب أن أستنظف جميع حقي عليها» يريد زوجته ومعنى «أستنظف» : أي أستوفي حقي كاملا. خلّقنا الله بأحبّ الأخلاق إليه وأرضاها، وأعاذنا من تضاؤل المعنى في نفوسنا.

On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. He urged users to be mistrustful of the things shared on Channels, and initially threatened to block the feature in the countries involved for the length of the war, saying that he didn’t want Telegram to be used to aggravate conflict or incite ethnic hatred. He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations. At its heart, Telegram is little more than a messaging app like WhatsApp or Signal. But it also offers open channels that enable a single user, or a group of users, to communicate with large numbers in a method similar to a Twitter account. This has proven to be both a blessing and a curse for Telegram and its users, since these channels can be used for both good and ill. Right now, as Wired reports, the app is a key way for Ukrainians to receive updates from the government during the invasion. The gold standard of encryption, known as end-to-end encryption, where only the sender and person who receives the message are able to see it, is available on Telegram only when the Secret Chat function is enabled. Voice and video calls are also completely encrypted. Pavel Durov, a billionaire who embraces an all-black wardrobe and is often compared to the character Neo from "the Matrix," funds Telegram through his personal wealth and debt financing. And despite being one of the world's most popular tech companies, Telegram reportedly has only about 30 employees who defer to Durov for most major decisions about the platform. Russians and Ukrainians are both prolific users of Telegram. They rely on the app for channels that act as newsfeeds, group chats (both public and private), and one-to-one communication. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Telegram has remained an important lifeline for both Russians and Ukrainians, as a way of staying aware of the latest news and keeping in touch with loved ones.
