What is "the clink"?
Unlike most other prisoners, those convicted on "terrorist" charges are sent not to penal colonies, but to prisons — "krytka" prisons, or 'the clink'. What kind of institutions are these? How many prisons are there in Russia and where are they located? What are the conditions like in them? Read about it in our cards.
Currently, 6 of the prisoners that Solidarity zone supports are in 'the clink', convicted for anti-war actions or for preparing to commit them. In these harsh conditions, you can support political prisoners by sending them a letter!
