В Дмитрове планируют возродить мужскую команду «Торпедо».

История футбольной команды «Торпедо» связана с Дмитровским заводом фрезерных станков (ДЗФС). В советское время команда выступала на Кубок СССР среди команд КФК.

Стадион «Торпедо» возвели в 1962 году во время плановой застройки рабочего посёлка ДЗФС. Он стал центром притяжения рабочей молодёжи, увлечённых спортом людей старшего поколения и детей. У футбольной команды завода появилась база, на основе которой также стали формироваться детские спортивные секции.

В 2024 году стадион «Торпедо» реконструировали, а естественный газон, заменили на искусственный.
