Большая часть протестующих — студенты, которые последние недели организуют блокады университетов по всей стране, требуя в том числе увеличения финансирования вузов, а также присоединившиеся к протестам фермеры.

С численностью в 100–102 тыс. человек, по оценке Архива общественных собраний, это, возможно, крупнейшее одномоментное протестное собрание в истории страны.
