Представитель России в СБ ООН Василий Небензя сказал: «Шокированы, что Соединенные Штаты применили право вето в отношении искренних усилий по спасению жизней палестинцев и израильтян». Он обвинил США в лицемерии и препятствовании усилиям по прекращению огня.
США объяснили свое вето тем, что резолюция не связывала освобождение израильских заложников с прекращением огня.
Следует отметить, что в 2016 году администрация Обамы не применила вето против антиизраильской резолюции в период после выборов, на которых победил Трамп.

Apparently upbeat developments in Russia's discussions with Ukraine helped at least temporarily send investors back into risk assets.
