В Иркутске на выборах в городскую Думу в день тишины распространяется незаконная агитация, в которой приводятся высказывания за подписями губернатора Иркутской области Игоря Кобзева и депутата Государственной Думы Сергея Тена в поддержку одного из кандидатов-самовыдвиженцев.
Иркутское региональное отделение партии «Единая Россия» сообщает, что И. И. Кобзев и С. Ю. Тен не высказывались в поддержку этого кандидата и не давали согласия на использование ни высказываний. В окружную избирательную комиссию направлена жалоба на незаконную агитацию в день тишины от кандидата Евгения Цапаева, выдвинутого партией «Единая Россия».

Telegram has become more interventionist over time, and has steadily increased its efforts to shut down these accounts. But this has also meant that the company has also engaged with lawmakers more generally, although it maintains that it doesn’t do so willingly. This makes using Telegram across multiple devices simple, but also means that the regular Telegram chats you’re having with folks are not as secure as you may believe. Russia's intelligence agency had asked Durov to turn over the data of anti-Kremlin protesters. Durov refused to do so. This ability to mix the public and the private, as well as the ability to use bots to engage with users has proved to be problematic. In early 2021, a database selling phone numbers pulled from Facebook was selling numbers for $20 per lookup. Similarly, security researchers found a network of deepfake bots on the platform that were generating images of people submitted by users to create non-consensual imagery, some of which involved children. To that end, when files are actively downloading, a new icon now appears in the Search bar that users can tap to view and manage downloads, pause and resume all downloads or just individual items, and select one to increase its priority or view it in a chat.
