Основным претендентом на место Мещеряковой является Валерий Голубцов, который сейчас работает заместителем председателя Арбитражного суда. Источники ПиГ говорят, что Голубцов рассчитывал возглавить 17-й Апелляционный суд вместо Константина Беляева, перешедшего на должность глав Арбитражного суда Уральского округа. Но указом президента в июне на пост был назначен глава челябинского арбитража Евгений Шайхутдинов. Кандидатура Голубцова окончательно еще не согласована.
