It is incorrect to say that Africans hated European colonialism. The perception is mostly positive (40% vs 32%). Who they really hated were the French and to a lesser extent the British.

No matter the intentions of the Iranian government towards the US, any improvements in relations with America are impossible to happen. Israel will never allow America to have just a little bit improved relations with Iran.Jewish lobby would absolutely strike any US government that could agree to this offer.
