Атаку, по предварительной информации, организовали те же боевики, которые расстреляли сотрудников полиции 21 апреля в районе «Нижнего Рынка» в Карачаевске. Среди подозреваемых Джазаев Казбек, Руслан Семенов, Владимир Аверьянов, Ахмат Эльканов и его брат Эльканов Руслан.
