🔸سیزدهم ماه سپتامبر (امسال برابر با بیست‌وسوم شهریورماه) در بعضی کشورها روز آگاهی از بیماری سلیاک Celiac Disease است.
🔸سِلیاک؛ بیماری خودایمنی ارثی حساسیت به پروتئین گلوتن (عدم تحمل گندم، جو و چاودار)؛ بیماری‌ای است که بسیاری از مبتلایان که تعدادشان کم نیست (احتمالاً در حدود یک درصد از جمعیت هستند) از ابتلای به آن، یا از شناخت، کنترل و رژیم غذایی مناسب آن بی‌خبرند.
مبتلایان باید لیستی از خوراکی‌ها، داروها و مکمل‌های دارای گلوتن داشته باشند و همیشه از خوردن آن‌ها خودداری کنند تا با عوارض جدی روبه‌رو نشوند.
البته هر شخص دارای حساسیت به گلوتن مبتلا به سلیاک نیست. تشخیص بیماری سلیاک ابتدا با آزمایش خون، و در صورت مثبت بودن نتیجۀ آزمایش، با نمونه‌برداری از روده انجام می‌شود.
