Despite Telegram's origins, its approach to users' security has privacy advocates worried. This has proven to be both a blessing and a curse for Telegram and its users, since these channels can be used for both good and ill. But because group chats and the channel features are not end-to-end encrypted, Galperin said user privacy is potentially under threat.
