کامیون هدف گرفته شده در حال انتقال کارگران معدن در ناحیه هرنای در استان بلوچستان پاکستان بود. هرنای بیش از ۱۶۰ کیلومتر از کویته، مرکز استان بلوچستان، فاصله دارد.
یک مقام شبه‌نظامی به خبرگزاری رویترز گفت: «یک وسیله دست‌ساز انفجاری در کنار جاده کار گذاشته شده بود که هنگام عبور کامیون حامل معدنچیان منفجر شد.»
به گفته او این وسیله ممکن است از راه دور کنترل شده باشد.
تاکنون هیچ گروهی مسئولیت این حمله را به عهده نگرفته است.
حضرت ولی آقا، جانشین رئیس پلیس منطقه، گفت که ۱۷ معدنچی در زمان انفجار سوار کامیون بودند.
