В соответствии с указаниями Блаженнейшего Патриарха Антиохийскийского Иоанна X , в связи с текущей обстановкой в сфере безопасности и для предотвращения проблем с безопасностью, возникающих из-за «отдельных ошибок», которые происходят в различных частях Сирии, все празднования Рождества, Нового года и различных христианских праздников приостановлены до тех пор, пока не будут восстановлены меры безопасности. Христианские праздники будут ограничены молитвами и зажиганием свечей.
