«از نظر ما امضاکنندگان این مرقومه که بیش از ده سال با آقای دکتر مخبر و مجموعه تحت امر ایشان در خلال مسئله معدن قزل قیه تعامل و مراوده داشته ایم، کاملا مشخص و مبرهن است که شخصیت این فرد نمی تواند کمکی به ایجاد تحول در دولت جمهوری اسلامی کند و چه بسا یکی از بزرگترین موانع بر سر راه این تحول بسیار ضروری برای کشور باشد. ما امضاکنندگان این مرقومه ضمن اعلان برائت از یکان یکان گروه های سیاسی، اعلام میداریم این طومار را صرفا از سر دلسوزی نسبت به آینده سیاسی-اجتماعی نظام جمهوری اسلامی آماده کردیم تا حجت را بر خود و اطرافیان در این آگاه سازی جنابعالی تمام کنیم.»

The perpetrators use various names to carry out the investment scams. They may also impersonate or clone licensed capital market intermediaries by using the names, logos, credentials, websites and other details of the legitimate entities to promote the illegal schemes. Official government accounts have also spread fake fact checks. An official Twitter account for the Russia diplomatic mission in Geneva shared a fake debunking video claiming without evidence that "Western and Ukrainian media are creating thousands of fake news on Russia every day." The video, which has amassed almost 30,000 views, offered a "how-to" spot misinformation. But the Ukraine Crisis Media Center's Tsekhanovska points out that communications are often down in zones most affected by the war, making this sort of cross-referencing a luxury many cannot afford. The War on Fakes channel has repeatedly attempted to push conspiracies that footage from Ukraine is somehow being falsified. One post on the channel from February 24 claimed without evidence that a widely viewed photo of a Ukrainian woman injured in an airstrike in the city of Chuhuiv was doctored and that the woman was seen in a different photo days later without injuries. The post, which has over 600,000 views, also baselessly claimed that the woman's blood was actually makeup or grape juice.
