В город первой в мире плавучей атомной теплоэлектростанции прибыла Арктическая экспедиция МЧС России. В преддверии 80-й годовщины Победы в Великой Отечественной войне участники экспедиции передали в Певек частичку Вечного огня.

Экспедиция начала свой путь с Кольского полуострова и проходит через всю Арктику, передавая огонь из региона в регион. Сложности Русского Севера колонны МЧС России преодолевают уже почти месяц. За это время они прошли более 8,5 тысяч километров.
