Своё же название Угриный Остров (или же Остров Эли) получил как и от водившихся в речках рядом с ним угрей, так и за счёт своего островного положения посреди Фенских болот. Иронично, но помимо Эли рядом с Фин...Фенскими зал...болотами расположился и английский Петербург, а, точнее, Питерборо (Peterborough)
