Алексей Нягин приступил к исполнению обязанностей заместителя министра спорта Чувашии 1 июня 2020 года. С 24 января 2020 года до назначения на должность он возглавлял Спортивную школу олимпийского резерва №5 им. В.Н. Кочетова, в которой с 2007 года преподавал карате. С 27 февраля 2019 года Алексей Нягин возглавляет РФСОО "Ассоциация Киокусинкай Чувашии".
