🔸بال در زبان کشمیری به‌معنای «کنار آب» است و چون این مکان بر کرانهٔ دریاچهٔ دل قرار گرفته است، شاید وجه تسمیه آن همین باشد. از طرفی، بال در این زبان به معنای مو نیز هست.

🔸پیشینه انتقال تار موی منسوب به ریش پیامبر اسلام از مدینه به هند به اوایل قرن یازدهم می‌رسد، ولی دربارهٔ صحت انتساب این تار مو به حضرت محمد اطلاعات تاریخی متناقضی در دست است.

🔸مسلمانان این منطقه با زیارت این مو برای رفع حوائج گوناگون خود ازجمله درمان بیماری‌ها، بچه‌دار شدن، طول عمر و محافظت در برابر سیل و قحطی و بلایای دیگر دعا می‌کنند و نذرها و هدایایی نیز برای اجابت خواسته‌هایشان به این درگاه تقدیم می‌کنند.

An official Twitter account for the Russia diplomatic mission in Geneva shared a fake debunking video claiming without evidence that "Western and Ukrainian media are creating thousands of fake news on Russia every day."
