Контракт на 216 вагонов за $240 млн был заключен с CRRC в 2019 году. По условиям сделки, 204 вагона должны быть выпущены в Индии. Совместное производство с Titagarh Wagons до недавнего времени CRRC организовать не удавалось, вагоны в Бангалор не передавались.
В то же время для подстраховки BMRCL объявила тендер на поставку 12 шестивагонных поездов. Свои заявки на участие в конкурсе подали Alstom, Mitsubishi, Titagarh Wagons и BEML (поставляла поезда для первых трех линий Бангалора).
