В Греции запущена первая в стране линия метро с беспилотными поездами

В Салониках на линии протяженностью 9,6 км начал курсировать парк из 18 четырехвагонных поездов от Hitachi Rail. На всех 13 станциях находятся платформенные двери. Поставленная Hitachi Rail система управления движением по радиоканалу CBTС обеспечивает высший уровень автоматизации GoA4. Однако пока машинист присутствует в головном вагоне.

Каждый поезд может вмещать 450 пассажиров, включая 96 мест для сидения. Подвижной состав выпущен в итальянской Реджо-ди-Калабрии. Подобные поезда и автоматику Hitachi Rail также поставила в Копенгаген, Милан, Тайбэй, Лиму.

Строительство второго (после Афин) метро в Греции началось в 2006 году и должно было завершиться в 2012-м. Однако открытие несколько раз переносилось из-за обнаружения археологических находок и долгового кризиса. На конец 2025 года намечен запуск второй линии с 15 такими же поездами.
